![]() Importing W- Forms Directly From Providers Please share in the comments if you used this feature. I did not use the option to try and import a previous year’s return from another provider like TaxACT or H&R Block. I think most other competitors do this as well, however. This did feel rather convenient, and it helped make sure I didn’t forget any 1099s from old bank accounts. For example, all my Employer Tax IDs and addresses were pre-filled. They also had all my old W- providers to reduce my data entry needs a little bit more. Filing status, dependents, address, DOB, SSN, etc. If you used TurboTax the previous year, it will pull up all of your old tax information. For example, after entering in my property taxes, it said something like “Good news! The $X,XXX you paid is deductible and just reduced your tax bill!” The software’s “personality” was more friendly and positive. It should have asked me first if I actually wanted to figure these things out. ![]() For example, just entering a simple $700 1099-MISC from some random bonus deal led me down a 5-minute rabbit hole where TurboTax was trying to decided if this was really a W-2 job or independent contractor pay, if it was a business or hobby, and if I could deduct my cell phone usage and mileage for it.
Best of all, these handcrafted art pieces are equipped with an air hole to last for years on end, allowing for you to regulate the amount of air in each sand picture so you can make the sand fall as fast or as slow as you want. Added dithering support to Questing and Screenie. Added Vanilla and Amber as preset colours. Added 'Questing' presets, an efficient but more complex gameplay preset. Less air creates a faster flow of sand making dune shapes. Changelog: - Modified MultiLUT Chroma and Luma values across all presets. More air creates a slower flow of sand resulting in a delicate trickle of sand making more dramatic peaks and valleys. The result is the sand trickles between the air bubbles to create fascinating stratifications in the sand mountains. Turn the sand picture over to watch the battle of the elements: The sand just wants to settle at the bottom, the air just wants to escape to the top, the water hosts the party. Using his vivid and wild imagination, Luz transformed architectural elements, buildings, and temples into circles, rectangles, lines, and colors. I like things that are very stark, elemental, simple-like a stone or a shell.” One of his most celebrated series is the beloved cityscapes, which was inspired by his many travels to the historic and “lost” cities throughout Asia. They are by nature too decorative and pretty. Luz’s early works were figurative with his later works evolving into further abstraction, with forms and shapes losing identifying characteristics as he defined his style. Throughout its history the Luz Gallery displayed many exhibitions important to the modern art movement, assisted and influenced up and coming Filipino artists, and caught the attention of important collectors looking for the next artistic trend. He married artist Tessie Ojeda Luz and in 1960 established the renowned Luz Gallery in Manila. Luz spent 1954 in Spain and in 1955 exhibited his work at the Metropolitan Museum in Manila. He became known on the Philippine art scene when he held his first solo exhibition in 1951 at the Manila Hotel, following a previous exhibition of his drawings at the Raymond Duncan Gallery in Paris. Luz began exhibiting his works as a college student and received his first award at the annual art contest sponsored by the Art Association of the Philippines. He studied painting first in the Philippines, then the United States, Europe, and again in the United States in the following order: the School of Fine Arts at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila under scholarship at the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, California the Brooklyn Museum Art School in New York (1950) and the Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris (1951). Luz won the distinction of being designated National Artist of the Philippines, the highest artistic honor in the country, for Visual Arts in 1997. Although many of Luz’s works include only the essential elements of lines, curves, and a few toned-down colors, the Filipino people continue to show enthusiasm, devotion, admiration, and curiosity for them. In the later years of Luz’s career he also received recognition and praise for his sculptures, murals, photographs, and general taste in design. Many of these two artists’ works are now considered masterpieces. He is considered a pioneer of the Philippine Neo-realist movement (1950s-1960s) along with fellow Filipino artist Fernando Zobel de Ayala, for their adoption of a modernist approach to interpreting daily life in their native land. ![]() Arturo Luz is a Filipino modern artist best known for his minimalist, geometric, and abstract styles of art and his animated paintings of circus performers and musicians as well as his revered cityscape series. |
